I work with my dad. We have a family business that I’m also financially responsible for. He’s a narcissist, he’s bipolar. He’s mentally, verbally and now has become physically abusive towards me. He’s 75 years old. He doesn’t allow me to make any decisions in the family business and the business is not doing well. I’ve tried to stick up for myself but it only makes him attack me more. I can’t just walk out because my name is also co-signed to this business. I often feel like there is no way out and I’m stuck in this pressure cooker. It’s gotten so bad that he’s now degrading me in front of employees. So it is what it is. If I never helped him get that business to start I wouldn’t be in this mess to begin with. I feel like my life is never going to get better. Your reading was definitely spot on for me.
