Continental Philosophy is CANCELLED!!! Oppose Book Worship!

This is an orthodox Marxist channel! All French philosophy and "theory" is officially non-sanctioned. Deleuze and Guattari, Lyotard, Baudrillard, Foucault, Bergson, Bataille, Merleau-Ponty--ALL CANCELLED! READ YOUR KANT! READ YOUR MARX! If you aren't a communist but still want theory, you may read Bakunin, Proudhon, and the Bread Book.

Acceptable 20th century continental philosophers are limited to Adorno and Benjamin, but you should already have read your Kant. The Frankfurt School as a whole is cancelled, along with the entirety of post-Malebranch France.

Don't try to be sneaky and go back to Ancient philosophy, either! It is permissible to read Plato, Aristotle, Epicurus, and other pre-Socratics, but you are expressly forbidden from reading any Stoic philosophy. And don't think you can be cool by finding a niche in medieval philosophy. READ KANT!

Idk if this is satire, but some of those French guys are pretty relevant in critiquing contemporary capital. Baudrillard’s sign value is important for modern Marxists to understand.

I agree. They are very appealing when you're just getting into philosophy and they are really prevalent in academia so it's understandable that people flock to them I guess.

Lol okay... Well not everyone who is into continental philosophy is fetishizing it. Continental philosophy has by far been the most impactful in history. This guy seems irritated at some people he's know in life and does have a grasp on what continental philosophy is about.

would you not say that the work of Foucault has made an important contribution to the study of things like race and gender -- structures of power that Marx missed completely in his analysis, to the detriment of many revolutionary projects taking their departure from his work?
