I'm Australian and I've been waiting for this part of your trip. The GBR is so beautiful, but climate change is killing it - if you had gone 10 years ago, the coral would have been more iridescent and colourful, but coral bleaching has affected the area so much. I'm so happy that you got to experience the GBR before this beautiful ecosystem is destroyed forever. I'm not sure how this would fit in with your content, but it could be good to see a video on how Climate Change has changed various locations you've visited and the importance of conserving what is left.

20 years ago during Christmas week I too went to the barrier reef to snorkel. It was magical and beyond belief. Truly a memory maker for me....

Up North at Cape Tribulation reef is only 30min from land by boat with "Ocean Safari", actually from the beach, they even help non-swimmers giving a crash course+training in snorkeling.
Plus Cape Tribulation is an ancient rain forest full of amazing creatures.

Snorkeling is always good, but reef snorkeling is the BEST! The best I ever did was when hubby and I rented a little island off the coast of Honduras. Sunrise, in the buff, in the ocean...a couple of eagle rays came out to play with me. They had 17-19 FOOT wingspans, and they seemed to be competing to see who could brush me with a wingtip. That's the way to wake up in the morning! 35 years later, remembering still gives me chills and a big old grin. Thanks for bringing back the memories. Your footage was GREAT!

I worked on Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays for 2 years, I was spoilt as I dived the Reef on countless occasions.
