HOW can stealing a house NOT be a criminal issue??? This has to stop.

Colorado was supposed to keep her in jail for six years. If they had done so, she wouldn't be in Texas now, getting away with this again.

ZILLOW, let it happen. Zillow DID NOT DO A VERY GOOD BACK GROUND CHECK!
might be grounds for a LAW SUIT.

This is awful! There was a story about a guy who got a legal lease for his deceased mother’s house, waited for the squatters to leave, moved their stuff out, and became the squatter himself.

I use a property management company. They don’t get in until the check clears.

There needs to be laws that cover the owners of homes from squatters. Also, harder laws and consequences for squatters.

She is a different type of squatter. She actually fills out an application even though it's filled with lies.

Also of all the states!!!! I thought Texas had some grit, sounding just like California.

Getting into someone else's house is breaking and entering at the very least...but to then say that if they break in they can take ownership of it? I will never understand this.

I remember being a little girl in the 80s with a single mom and a dad that refused to hep. We got evicted and came home to find all our stuff ok the streets. What happened to those days? Why is this Ok now? I know it sounds harsh, but if you cant pay you can’t stay.

So they did charge this woman with a type of fraud for this and got her out of this home. The crime has a sentence of up to 10 years in prison. I would give her the max if I was the judge. She wants a free place to live. A jail cell will give her that.

*This reminds me of the movie PACIFIC HEIGHTS. The evil of Michael Keaton's character in that film! Arrrggghhh!*
*So sorry for the lady homeowner. Wishing her the best outcome and immediate recovery.*

How come people aren't double checking references, running background checks, and waiting for the check to clear BEFORE letting them move in.

Another video showed the real owner decided to squat in the same house and when the squatters left the house he refused to let them back in, using the squatters so called rights against them.
