Almost every time Justus Annunen has struggled, its been when he's coming in cold. Give the guy some starts and if he plays well, don't let Georgie back in til Justus needs a rest.

If the Avs can stay around .500 with Lehky and Val out then there’s no concern.

They were 4-5-1 after 10 games the year they won the cup. 2 of those losses were to the Blue Jackets.

Yes.

It’s only 2 games in and goalies are getting warmed back up, but for Georgie it’s different. It’s painful to watch him because you expect him to come out swinging since he has something to prove, that he is that guy. So far, we’ve seen him be the same as last season, wildly inconsistent. My confidence in him is 50/50 because every time the opponent is in the Avs zone, it’s nerve racking wether he’ll save sh*t or just let it in

Through 2 games the Avs have given up 8.26 more goals than expected. That has to be a record.

Die hard Avs fan here. I am genuinely curious. Do other teams have as much funk as the avs had had for the last couple years? Landi, Val, etc... I feel the goal tending really has not been good for a long time. Its ok for a while and we forget but its this seemingly repeat cycle.

I wish they’d just start annunen for a couple of games and see what happens with some repetition. We all know this is very Georgie and what his capabilities are but we don’t know what annunen could do with a game start or two. He started the season shitty last year and then after reps in the AHL, he came back and crushed it. I’m not losing hope on him yet. After a year of defending Georgie, I am losing hope on him.

Okay, as a Leafs fan, I admittedly just mostly focus on my own team and let the rest fade into the background until our teams are about to match up.

When I saw VGK had 8 goals against the Avs with 21 shots, my eyes literally bulged out of my head. A real "...that can't ACTUALLY be real, right...?" moment.

As a long time Denver Fan its hard to watch. We love Georgie. I feel like the Avs know and are looking for a trade as any franchise will do. The Backup is also not the choice but sometimes goalies just need to be pulled. I remember the playoffs last year and thinking this exact same question but also our defense was bad imo. We should be looking for a goalie that is used to playing fast paced games and can get spark saves on breakaways from all the takeaways we allow.
