I was friends with Brodie Croyle when I was a kid. I was deployed to Iraq and we had some downtime and were able to watch the Iron Bowl on the Armed Forces Network. My roommate knew that I knew Brodie. He was an LSU fan. I will never forget him saying, "I feel sorry for your boy man, Auburn is lighting him up." Brodie did take a beating that day. War Eagle!!!

I was Spending the Night at Auntie Thumb's house in Brighton, Alabama with Jamaal, Munchie, Danny, Romeo. Then Sweety, Tweety and his kids AJ, Amari, and recent newborn Amarion, and my other cousin Bassy were there watching the Iron Bowl while playing the GameCube Nintendo WWE DOR, WrestleMania XIX, True Crime L.A., WrestleMania X8, Def Jam Fight for NY. Then Jamaal and the others were playing PS2 like Madden NFL 06, NBA Live 06, SOCOM, FFX, Tekken 3, GTA VC, GTA III, GTA San Andreas, Pelican PS2 Cheat CD.

That 4th Auburn TD (Cole Bennett) looks a lot like Lutzy's TD in the 2010 Iron Bowl.

Everyone points to the whole 2006 season and that Iron Bowl as Mike Shula's doom.... but I submit this game. Alabama had been good team all year, their only loss a bad choke after leading most of it to LSU; and the iron bowl was a total and complete fiasco. At no point did Alabama look like threatening to even make the game interesting. This team that had been #4 just a week ago, looked like an FCS unit. The playcalls were bad, the team looked uninterested and it became crystal clear to everyone... The clouds of probation are clearing, Alabama was capable of BCS glory again, and Shula would NOT be the one to deliver it.
