When proposals for the silver economy first started coming in, I was fairly skeptical. The most concrete answers we got were the Battle Hero reward thing and an extra few hundred silver per match seemed good but not nearly enough. At the time I would have proposed simply doubling silver gain across the board.

This is probably even better than that. The game should be in a much healthier state after these changes go through, and I can't wait to see how things go.

That’s really cool… I would also love to see the AI get updated. Seeing a whole bunch of AI standing around at an objective does break emersion

Sigh. I just completed the Japanese and Americans and have 2 Soviet and 5 German things to unlock in research. 😢 I guess I'll be done slightly faster. Do I get a Chump Who Grinded The Hard Way award?

Man I love how decided to research the German tree starting at tier 5 and going to tier 1 and have nearly completed it. (Only have some tier 2 and 1 planes left). This news really is fun to learn :).
As a side note I have been saving research points and have got to about 300k in the German tech tree.

I was thinking about making a post on reddit about how poor I thought the design was for new players to be bottle-necked by Silver income when still in the early part of the game/progression, especially with the premium account not actually increasing silver income. I was not able to keep up with my squad upgrades while playing multiple nations at BR1, despite receiving honors virtually every game. I think these changes will really solve the silver bottleneck for new players, by making Research the bottleneck instead of Silver, which is how it really should be. This will better encourage players to upgrade to a Premium account, which is a win for Darkflow, on top of a win for players with these changes. Looking forward to this change!

I can now jump into the low BR stuff for my Axis main, and now I can start playing heavy in all factions across the board. Wow. This really is going to get a LOT of new players to join in.

Haven't played in ages (since the tech rework) because the xp grind was insane and it set me back (lost previously unlocked equipment) so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Okay, this is huge. I was literally about to make a post online about how ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE the economy is in the game. I’ve played a lot in the past week, and I had started with 260k silver, and now I have 150k… and I’ll admit I’m spoiled with max upgrades on almost everything, I main Germany BR V (all my stuff from max tier in Normandy), but literally all I had to do to spend that 100k silver was upgrade a handful of weapons, 3 or 4 vehicle upgrades, buy a couple soldiers, and that’s more or less it. 100k silver gone. I basically didn’t even buy anything new and exciting except for the VG.2. And that’s WHILE PLAYING the game and earning silver with premium account! Like a mission gets you a whopping 1k silver, so what? It costs upwards of 7000 silver just to get ONE higher tier upgrade for ONE gun for ONE soldier. At this rate I don’t see how I can even realistically start the grind of other nations, because I’ll have to buy soooo many soldiers and weapons and vehicles.

Anything to help the grind become better is going to help a lot. I’d love to actually have fun in the game and get new stuff…
