Shadesmar - A Stormlight Archive fan animation

This is another one that was supposed to be more of a short film with multiple shots.

I'm forcing myself to post this one because if I don't, then the work is all going to sit in my drive, collecting dust, until I delete it to free space for another crazy sim project.

if you are curious, and read the way of kings, this was supposed to be the Shallan dad reveal scene: I had planned a few short clips, flashing on the screen, intermingled with this zoom in shot of pattern. A shardblade materializing, Shallan falling back in slow motion, a closeup of her eye, her hand grabbing the hilt of the sword as it forms, then cut to an old man's eyes burning, her hand breaking trough the surface of the sea of beads, maybe a scene of her trashing around in the non-water. it just got too complex and I started procrastinating it after this scene was rendered. in the end, I wanted to record a voice line with a fie "hmms" and a "it's time to tell the truth, Shallan", but I couldn't do it in the time frame I gave myself to post it.

The first time I read Shallan's chapter where the cryptics start showing up I was straight up shivering. That was so incredibly creepy and then it turns out that Pattern is as sweet as a dog

Absolutely amazing! I always imagined Shadesmar to have a black sky though, but blood red fits with what your idea for the whole video was.
And Pattern is amazing!

Very well done! I love how eerie this is, just like how I picture Shadesmar (though I imagine more blue or purple tones over red). The beads and the weird obsidian like mountain is so spot on! Ahhh and Pattern! This is amazing, hope this gets more views and you work on more Stormlight stuff! :)

The sound design is absolutely sublime. I love the sound of the trillions of beads collectively colliding with one another. It's sonorous yet so unsettling in a way. ❤

Thats great, i would love to see some continuation of this! you could use stills or diaramas for any Shallan scenes and intersperce them within this short. Beautiful work well done.

I was picturing it being blue like a ghost plane. But only just at the end of book 1 so all I got is the map and shallah one thing
