Ephesians 5:25
"Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her". This verse encourages husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church and to surrender to their love.

It’s not the pastor, it is the Word of God… accept it or reject it but do not play with it

I mean, he's right. That is what the bible says. You can't try to be christian and be angry that rhe bible doesn't allow you. Either leave the christian faith or obey the words of the bible, simple as that.

Why did so many holy people have so many wives in the bible

Most people know when they are doing wrong, but they will get very upset if you tell them. Why is that? They do not need to be told what they already know.

Good thing there is no official religion in the United States, and no one's religion can take away rights from those outside the religion.

Genesis was written during the Babylonian exile and reflects the evolving ideas about marriage the ancient Israelites were developing.

Patriarchs who existed before the exile didn't share this view. Abraham, Jacob, David, Elkanah, etc. all had more than one wife and were considered blessed.

In their time, if you could afford more than one wife, you could marry more than one. Since your name in the land was remembered through your children and since child mortality was an issue, it made sense to have more than one wife and a as many children as you could afford.

This pastor is negotiating with scripture to make it align with his dogma rather than admitting that his case is not supported in the manner he wished it was.

Did he really make people mad? Did those people ever learn about the bible and where it stands for or are they just plain stupid?

His argument is biblically completely unfounded. He might have more standing if he could reference something from the Christian era of the Bible; say something associated with fulfilling the law. Instead, he chose a verse from Genesis which is the historical account of our first parents, the patriarchs and prophets; many of whom had more than one spouse, yet found favor in the eyes of God.

How is it so difficult to understand and believe that what this pastor say is the truth?
