Great review and a very fair perspective on this motorcycle. I went from a 2018 Goldwing to the Indian Challenger and have practically turned it into a Pursuit minus the rear shock and a few other details. So far...no regrets. I loved both bikes, my Goldwing and my Challenger but sometimes it is nice to change things up.

A few notes:
- The clear coat is not "kind of soft" it is a real problem. Mine got scratches in no time. I have never seen paint this soft. I buffed it out and just ordered a tank protector. This should not be necessary.
- I have the same rear trunk as on the Pursuit. It is hard to close and takes significant pressure to close it. I removed the latching arms and put two small washers under mine. It moves the pin down just enough to make latching easy and still watertight.
- Love the engine of this bike. I have always liked the look of v-twins but never the ride. This bike has changed that for me, smoother than a Harley with more power and a better-looking engine than the Goldwing, with an American v-twin attitude. In my opinion.
- No infotainment system is perfect but this is the best I have owned.

Thanks for the thorough review!
Kevin

I was pleasantly surprised to see a Goldwing owner that was not hooked on the Goldwing Kool-Aid. You left me feeling I had your honest impression of the Indian, great job!

I've had 1985, 2010 and still ride a 2016 wing I rented a pursuit limited premium package for a day and I wanted to hate it but I couldn't very smooth riding bike I rode the same twisties as the wing and handles very well, mid life crisis I ordered one should be here just in time for winter

Excellent review video. A Honda Goldwing guy produces one of the only and the best Indian Pursuit review on YouTube thus far. Had your video been out about a month ago I probably wouldn’t be riding my current CVO Roadglide Ultra. Not that I hate Harley, I’ve had 8 of them. To the contrary I love them. I just think that it’s time to move the technology forward a bit. It’s time to move past the air cooled VTWIN idea to an era of water cooling so that we can get some more reliable and better performing bikes.

As you're on the subject of touring motorcycles, if a chance presents itself to test a new Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 that would also be interesting.

I have recently purchased the Indian pursuit (alumina Jade), I loved your review and honesty and agree with your assessment.
I traded in a Harley street glide special 2019 and after riding the challenger it was a no brainer.
I ordered a challenger but when it arrived it was damaged so i didn't accept it. Then shortly after the pursuit was announced. So even better I
thought and ordered it.
I am extremely happy with the bike.
Thanks

Wow, this is a good review, I spent a half hour taking it all in, good job sir. Where the Indian Pursuit fails for me is no centre stand. I have a 2 car garage and my Goldwing is parked on a dolly that lets me move it around easily. Plus at over $40K in Canada, for a bike I can ride only 4 months of the year it is very hard to fiscally justify. I eagerly await your comparison to the Wing and I suspect the Wing will be fighting for supremacy!

Indian Pursuit Owner - I hate to admit it but I agree with every thing you said. The liner in trunk is loose on mine. It wasn't on my Roadmaster. So I can't figure that one out. On the trunk removal. After you remove them the first time. You can replace the screws with a tie rap that will be hidden from view. To remove it you would have to open the bags. The bags are locked so that solves that problem. It would be nice if the bags and the top of the trunk were lined also but I guess we can't have it all. Good review.

Your review is right on the money. I have 5000 miles now on my 2022 Indian Pursuit LTD w/premium pkg. It is a phenomenal machine. Better wind protection than my 2021 GW Tour DCT I had previously and at highway speeds, the Pursuit is rock solid. My GW would catch heavy side winds and move the bike quite easily. I would say the ride quality is equal on the 2 bikes. /At low speed turns, the GW seemed more forgiving while the Pursuit tends to have more oversteer. Engine heat was non-existent on the wing but can get pretty bad on the Pursuit at stop lights in 90 degree + weather. The tech on the Indian is the best out there right now. All the info you could possibly need and then some. At times, I miss the silky smooth flat 6 of the Goldwing but I just purchased a mint 2000 Honda Valkyrie CT with 10, 000 miles on the clock. That should satisfy that "itch" for a while.

Very thorough review. But $33K and 900 pounds and does not have reverse or centerstand or hillhold or shift assist is a deal breaker for me, no matter how good the tech and comfort is. Soft clearcoat and other quality issues that you experienced are also concerning for $33K. How about resale value? Your 4.5 overall was a bit high, in my opinion.

I've had a Victory Vision since 2008. The battery is in the exact same location. It's very easy to access and change out. 10 minutes max to swap it out. Done it twice already and will probably do it again before winter. From a first hand perspective, I can assure you that the battery location is a non-issue. Great video as always. Thanks!

Very good review. Well thought out and presented. I own a 2016 Willow Green/Cream Vintage. By far the most beautiful bike I have ever owned. The ride is exceptional, from engine feel to physical ride. The constant compliments everywhere I go have also helped to make it my wife's favorite!

Great review! I bought my 2021 GoldWing Tour DCT and accessorized it to suit me and my significant other. I’ll be 70 in December, so figured this bike would take me to when I decide to hang up my riding boots for good. Your review has me rethinking that. I love the look of the bike and pretty much everything about it. I think it would actually be a better fit for my smallish 5’ 8” frame and probably more comfortable than my Wing. I’m looking forward to your comparison of the two.
The only concern I would have is how substantial is the Indian Dealer network? Honda dealers / service centres are everywhere. We don’t even have an Indian dealer in our city and I don’t know where the nearest one would be. Even the nearest Harley dealer is 3.5 hours away!
Oh… and does it have reverse? Not having that would probably be a deal breaker for me.

My favorite is my Roadmaster fantastic bike. I do not care about how fast it is and beleive me it is plenty fast for me. I love the classic fender and overall looks just love the bike so much it has been rock solid and i am impressed with the build quality and the parts are so well made Indian hit it out of the park with the Master. You pay a lot for accessories but they are so well made its like 1950s quality over built. It really feels like the master of the rode riding it and eats highway miles like nothing even my wife loves it and feels safe with the huge passenger seat and wrap around feeling with the optional arm rest and drink holders. When i see another Roadmaster rider we give each other a knowing nod like we are in a inclusive club because we know how good our bikes are better than the Harleys and most people do not have this info and i am glad because it makes me feel like i have something special and am not just another Harley rider which is so common where i live. My bike stands out among the crowd of Harleys especially when i pass them broken down on the highway.

2 year warranty for a 30, 000 what come on WTH.. did i hear that correctly? I was thinking about buying one but come on. 30, 000 dollars for a 2 year warranty. I have a RGS now from HD and think a 3 year warranty is horrible for a 2 wheel 30, 000. But idk you have to replace every part on. lol crankcase is a flop ... oil pump was a flop until 2020. then if you want power you have to change for a cam. but looks like one has to do that for every bike. But lord have mercy if you change anything out u lose your warranty. oh wait you can buy the same none powered aftermarket HD brand that has a none producing tuner which is a waste of at least you can travel for me be over 14hours to either dealership to get a Lloyd upgrade. IDK Your goldwing was horrible and had zero power was way not impressed. I was hoping for so much more with that bike. It made me sit so high up too. hated that. I know you love you goldwing. I don't really care what anyone rides. Im not that guy. At least the RG HD is sexy machine for now. Guess i need to express myself lol hahaha Your videos are always informative to the tee. thanks for info.

Nicely done review, probably your best... information was well organized and appropriatley brief but thorough. If the Pursuit wasn't so heavy, I'd consider it my next motorcycle. For now my 2020 BMW RT 1250 fits my touring needs, light weight + 130hp so goes when you want it too. Eager for the Wing vs. Pursuit show!

Never ridden one but I have had two Goldwing 1800's. Indian will need a better Dealer network to actually compete.

I have an idea how bout having that HAT sponsor one of your videos...maybe a future crown & comments with a subject of buying motorcycle related gear.

Any modern-age Indian, or pre-1954 Indian is BETTER than any HD, post-99.
