Imagine playing a character so well that someone associates you just being in public AS that character. To some people it's a curse, like with comedies and such, but this woman was absolutely terrified lol

Fun fact: The real reason he scared her is because he said "Can i use a bathroom? I was acting. Or was i?".

I've personally met Giancarlo. In reality he's just about the nicest, most warm-hearted man I've ever met. He told me about how he approaches playing his characters, digging deep into their motivations, never seeing himself as the "bad guy" even when he plays the bad guy. That's what makes Gus such a memorable and powerful character, he just sees himself as a good man who cares first and foremost about his family.

Honestly, to me, the thing that freaks me out the most about how Breaking Bad has shaped the image of Giancarlo is the fact that it’s him having a neutral expression that is scariest about the character of Gus. The character of Gus is cool, calculated, and when you’re in his way, looks at you with a cosmic apathy that could drain all the warmth from your body with just a deadpan stare. So imagine if Giancarlo just looks at you in, y’know, just in passing, that’d still probably send a shiver down my spine, even if he was just scanning the room for something as mundane as trying to find somewhere to sit.

Well to be fair to the woman who was scared of him, that boxcutter scene was truly the stuff of nightmares. One of the most unsettling moments ever in television history.
