Soto: he must be scared of me

I don't know if it's just me, but all those stories of knowing the pitcher is scared, especially someone like Verlander or greinke sound like he made it up after the fact to make himself sound better.

Soto's deal is completely insane. At least with Ohtani's deal the dodgers get an insane amount of revenue from Japan where they have TV deals and merchandise sales that will make up for the $70m salary. Soto doesn't bring ANY extra revenue to the table for his $50m. It's bonkers.

I know it makes sense as a business move, considering he's a baseball channel ans sports gambling is done openly now in the US, but man gambling sponsors always gives me the ick. I've known people in my life with gambling addiction and it's rough, for them and for the people around them.

Hands-down, the worst contract I’ve ever seen by far. Ohtani got 700 million, now this is my understanding of it, because he’s an ace pitcher which gets you about 350 in the market, he’s a league Homerun leader, which will get another 3:50 in the market. And that’s how you got him. Soto wasn’t even the best hitter or outfielder on the last team he played for, let alone in the league.

15 year contract is crazy.
What is happening, if he is injured in 3/4 seasons and cant play on a good level?

Baseball only exists in my life now because of this channel.
This channel is the ONLY place I keep up With baseball now. MLB or ESPN needs to make sure this dude gets a contract or something. The story telling and editing on this channel is elite.

Messi is earning $674 million IN 4 YEARS. As a 38 year old in a sub-par league. Soto's contract is big but mlb objectively doesn't have the most money going around

Bobby Bonilla can’t curse the Mets forever. Honestly good move by the Mets getting a replacement in advance

30:16 He was not the only reason why the Yankees were winning. Their pitching staff was playing WAY over their heads, with Luis Gill essentially serving as the ace. They’d gone 16 starts in a row allowing two or fewer earned runs while pitching five or more innings.

Gambling sponsors always ruin my trust, considering i've had people knock on my door for other family member's debts

It’s going to be hilarious when it’s revealed that he was in fact not 19 and actually 28 years old.

Soto is deserving of $500+ mil but with the absurd number he got this past off season it makes Ohtani look underpaid in retrospect.

Yankees fan here. I was bummed when I heard the news, but I am actually glad he isn't coming back. Too much to put in one person. If Soto was amazing defensively, I would reconsider, but he's a future DH. Happy for the Mets, but I am mostly positive on the Yankees moves this year to fill in the obvious gaps in defense and getting more of the lineup engaged in the offense.
