I also had a chance to use it and was nervous about the aperture range but MAN! This lens is so much more then the aperture makes you think. It’s hella fun to use and the aperture never got in the way. I think your review is spot on bro. Thanks for making this 🙌🏼

It depends what you want from a lens. For me, the 28-105 f4 is a better lens for daily use, because its OiS and constant aperture. Yes, its bigger, but not so that it becomes a problem. This new lens is more like a good hiking lens for daylight use. For everything else not so much.

I use the S5 for work, mainly with primes or the 24-105mm, but until now I still use my G9 for travel with the 14-140mm, which is an amazing lens, and hard to beat for flexibility, size and weight. This might be the lens that means I can ditch the G9 altogether - can’t wait to test it out.

Looks like a kit lens for a new camera, they did the same when they released the 20-60mm a bit before the S5… hopefully this means the new S1’s are around the corner

Wish this lens existed a few months back when I went out to Sri Lanka; I took the 24-105mm with me but this would have been just that bit nicer for some of the wildlife shots; great to see Lumix growing the lens lineup, hopefully I'll have another reason to consider this lens soon.
