this interview feels super awkward... Pharrell hardly talked until more than halfway through.
I wish they had more enthusiasm for Joey.
he was trying hard to keep the convos going.

I really don't get why some people are saying this was a bad interview or that Joey is "cocky". Clearly if you're saying that Joey is "cocky" that means that you've just started to listen to his music, which is fine, but he is one of the realest there is, seriously.

I think Pharell didn't talk much at the beginning because he was listening to what Joey had to say, you can tell he kind of recognises himself in Joey and being in his 20s. Now that Joey has a great base of content with a mixtape and an album etc... you can tell he really has evolved as an artist and like he said "before he raped on beats" and now he "learned how to make music". For me he's definitely in today's top 5 with: Kendrick, Cole, Isiah Rashad and I want to say Mac Miller but I'm probably gonna gate hate for that haha...
(note: this is my personal top 5, it's debatable except for Kendrick).

I love these interviews. Pharrell is so respectful towards his guests and Joey is definitely an honored guest here. His whole demeanor and respect and perspectives is amazing.

I feel like this is more of a lesson between teacher and student than an interview. The interview didn't really open up until Pharrel started talking. Pharrel was teaching Joey that his music should connect with his interviews just like Pac's music and interviews did. Like you could see the hunger, enthusiasm, and emotion in Pac's interviews and how it all goes back to his music, but it's not exactly there yet for Joey, so Pharrel was pretty much saying you're not at that level yet to diss Pac until you find a true connection with yourself and your music. And that all makes sense since Joey did kinda diss Pac a little while back.
