It's amazing that while the were working on the Let It Be album they were also work shopping most of the songs for Abbey Road. I guess it was a matter of what songs were complete after a month of recording.

I absolutely looove the rhythm of Polythene Pam. The way it manages to rhyme 'dress' and 'yes' and go back to 'you should see polythene Pam' is so satisfying to me.

after watching the documentary, there is little Lennon, Harrison, and McCartney were all musical geniuses. No one in the history of music (as a band) can match their songwriting abilities.

They had released the 30 songs of the White Album on 22nd november 1968. This is TWO months later, they were recording another album full of classics, "Let it Be", and had almost all of "Abbey Road" but for three songs ("Come Together", "Here Comes the Sun" and "You Never Give me your Money", which they would write that spring). And they are complaining all the time that they are not doing enough...They had the work ethic of riveters in a shipyard, which they would probably have been had they not been The Beatles.

If not for the original concept, they could have created an Abbey Road documentary with all the working versions of the songs.

I don't know why John complained so much about The Long One when he couldn't finish writing one song properly by that time. Paul had the idea of including his attempts they way they were, unfinished. Paul is a genius and an all around considerate and great guy in these times when he was considered a tyrant. He was just trying to keep the Titanic afloat.
