I’m a finish carpenter by trade & have minor experience in other areas - I’ve considered doing this myself but through some research have found that it would make more sense to just build a tiny home from scratch - realistically the only part I’d need help with is getting utilities to my property (if they’re not already there) & if the city has licensing restrictions on electrical & sewage work I’d have to outsource that - probably to a friend or contractor I’m close with

There was a hype for container house some years ago and my understanding was that many people found out years laters that containers houses had lot of problems, especially for being made mostly of metal

These are rarely built correctly. The biggest issue is insulating sufficiently to overcome thermal bridging. Make the interior too small if done correctly, so realistically should be done on exterior. You may as well build a small home as its easier to build correctly, and if the container was done correctly, its not a savings.

I moved from a 2700 square foot house in Pennsylvania to being deployed living in a Central housing unit that was about 200 sq ft. Honestly I loved my time and the 200 sq ft place.

It was comfortable, easy to clean. I did have to put my stuff in storage though

This would be good for people who have a vacation compound or some sort of land they share with family and friends so each family can have their own "house".
