When I lived on 9th and Oak, the best food you could find was hotdogs at a liquor store.
I was pretty happy with myself doing a boardslide on that entire round rail.

It's all about money or lack of it. If you are not behind on your taxes, own your home, have savings and other assets, and live debt free no one can come in and move you out easily. Broke people needing money badly are prey to those with money who want their property. America is about wealth period. If you are poor it will treat you unkindly.

Honestly I always lived in neighborhoods with poc... unless your from st.louis where it doesn’t matter I’ve found that if you do you and mind your own business people in these neighborhoods won’t bother you and they are actually very sweet.

2018 update, hippsters have priced themselves out of west and north Oakland the neighborhood is going to crap again. In fact they made it worse the homeless population has doubled.

On linden st there was a woman that used to walk around clucking like a chicken. she used to live next door in a huge abandoned apartment house all by herself and have terrible violent fights all by herself at night... we lived next door . We said . Ok, whatever... scared us tho ... we moved...I wonder what happened to her??? Had wonderful memories hanging out in defermermary park
