I think what got me the most in Clexa was that it was so out of left field... You watch a post-apo sci-fi teenage show, with a lot of very usual tropes... And suddenly, BAM... Clexa. And it works so well. It just change from the usual "real world day to day" setting, and use it's own setting to streghten it.
It was a freaking good surprise.

The 100 is always this weird show, that when you recommend it, you always lead by "It's shit, but hear me out...", because while the writing is always "meh", every season in itself is such a clever sci-fi set-up, and the characters are for some so lovable, you get through all the seasons wondering why you watched so long.
