Here I present a series of hand-tinted glass lantern slides by Branson DeCou an American photographer and travelogue, He was born October 20, 1892, in Philadelphia and became a lecturer who traveled the world for 30 years before his death in 1941 at the age of 49.

Thanks, Nigel, for this enchanting slideshow - a trip down memory lane for me. Although I visited Jalta decades later, it still retained much of its charm conveyed in those pics, well, i.e. depending, of course, where one looked;-)
