I think the media stops needing to say this is a dark day for the country. It just plays into the notion that indictments against a president are somehow more important. Indictment is not a conviction. 
donald has the full right to defend himself under oath and to present exculpating evidence.
trump is free to repeat all the claims he makes on social media while under oath.
MAGA supporters should be happy that finally donald can present his case to the "never trumpers" in a context that exposes all lies and gets to the truth of the matter beyond reasonable dispute.
