I treat my EP's as "memoirs". An EP for me is a slice of a phase of my life, broken down into a few episodes, usually in a chronological flow, like telling a story. I find that a failed relationship makes a good EP... tell the story of the beginning's highs, the middle's conflicts, the detriment of its end, the breakthrough, and the conclusion.

Don’t forget to back up often. My ep is 90% done and my laptop took a massive dump! It is in the shop and will hopefully be fixed. I’m not stressing too hard since I have up to date project files stored in the cloud and on two separate HDs.

Yes, I agree. I think a lot of people don't necessarily realize that music is an industry and you produce content, product, songs, AND those songs need to be about something OR capture a feeling. I like the skeleton thing BECAUSE, I've heard guys that have ideas but they haven't written it down, formalized it. I like the EP idea a few songs. The promotion, marketing part is the most difficult for me. But I have some ideas.

I would recommend picking which songs you want to shoot videos to. Videos in this day and age are just as important as the music. Some would say your song isn't released until you release a video.

Hey Graham. Does an E.P have to be consistent within the same genre? Or which is the best? a straight forward POP/ROCK/DANCE what ever the genre it is we're going for, or is a sort of mixtape E.P better?
