I can just hear Matt going to the Jaguar board ‘Ok guys, I’ve saved Jaguar, …but I’ve massively over spent”🤣

Your vision is closer to mine than where we are going....and I work there.

As a 50 year old red faced golfer who currently drives an XF, I whole heartedly agree with everything you say Matt. I've driven Jag's for 20 years and I'm gutted with the current state of affairs. They're an iconic brand with a passionate fanbase and I really hope they change their strategy to incorporate some of your ideas.

Im a senior surgeon from Germany, and I had more than 8 Jag X300, X308, X350, X351, X258 over the last 20 years as I have to drive about 70.000km yearly.
Its just so sad they didnt continue the XJ series, as it was so much cooler than the regular A8, 7-series, and S-Class.
Sold my last XJ about a year ago when it had 375.000km. Unfortunately it got really hard to find good examples here. I always paid between 5-20k for my old Jags, but now its just crap you can find at this pricepoint.
My wife drives a Mini Clubman and a Defender V8 Carpathian, "unfortunately" I have to stick to my boring 2016 S500 as I cant find any reasonable cool Limousine in the 40k pricerange.
Next weekend I will check a Jaguar XJ 5.0 US-Import because there are almost no European cars for sale here, at least not as a Had a F-Pace SVR before, but Im just not an SUV person.
Bentleys are just too expensive and they remind me too much of my Phaeton W12 that I had many years ago

Otherwise love your content! Big car enthusiast here. Probably one of few people (at least here in germany) that drove over 500.000km in various XJs. Went to local Jag meeting and they only use their cars occasionally, but I had and will use them always as a daily

i worked for jaguar for 20 years, from them having poor rust buckets they changed the way with the x-type and s-type launches, yes they were never superb cars but they sold in good numbers, the XF was the game changer, we did a pre launch drive day with 5 cars from jaguar and every customer that tested one just fell in love with it, so nice and easy to drive, the sportbrake was another sucess but didnt sell in massive numbers, the xk was an awesome car and yes should still be in production, the xe was another great seller especially if fleet sales, the f-type was another awesome car, and sounds so so good. and the xj was always a very underrated executive car that was just a pleasure to drive, all these changed jaguar for the great but yes they are just going nowhere soon, it would be a disaster to see them vanish, the history and production behind the scenes in jagaur is just awesome, i just hope the owners tata invest and bring them back, worst thing they ever did was combine the dealerships with land rover, jaguar jut gets lost in there now, they should be stand alone sites. i loved my time there and will always hold a special place in my heart.

I know and work with few people who work in long term planning for German car manufacturers. They openly admit Jaguar is used as a prime example of how not to do their job. When it comes to squandering brand capital, island mentality & general managerial hubris, the British industry leaders are true experts.

Jaguar needs someone from lexus to sort out the reliability and quality of there cars.

I partly agree, but not overall. Mercedes stops the production of the A-class, because they don't earn enough money with it. And it's too expensive to adapt it to future emission limits. And that's one of the things I think you forgot about. With the product range you proposed with all the combustion engines Jaguar could never reach the goals and would have to pay millions of penalty.
Another point where I totally disagree is your proposal to make small or midsize Coupés and convertibles. There is no market! Every manufacturer stops making them one after another. Audi stopped the TT and the A3 cabriolet, Mercedes combined the C-class and the E-class to one CLE cabriolet. It's a pity, but people don't buy these type of cars anymore.

A couple of weeks ago, I saw 2013.XJ, and though man this car looks amazing for 11 years old.Must say you are completely right about some of their models being too early discontinued.

It's worse here in the US, where they've completely pulled out.

I've had an X Type, an XF, and an XE. Loved them all (particularly the 2015 XF with the supercharged V6). My local dealer gave up their Jaguar dealership; sad, because they were the first Jag dealers in the US (from 1938, I believe). However, last year they sold a total of 60 Jags. So now they're my Land Rover dealer.

Great video.
Just want to say a huge thank you for the great content you provide.
I only discovered your channel a few months ago.
I recently suffered a brain haemorrhage and have been recovering, albeit slowly, for over 6 months now. Just over a month ago I was finally able to get behind the wheel again after getting the all clear from the DVLA. Fortunately, my prognosis is good, I am a very lucky laddie indeed. It could all too easily have been fatal.
Your videos have kept my spirits up and helped me to focus on the positives when I was struggling. That wasn't easy. You have kept me smiling and I can't thank you enough for that.
Subscribing to the channel and purchasing one of your t shirts, today, is my own wee gesture of gratitude to you for helping me along in my long road to recovery so far.
Thank you so much. X

You managed to echo my sentiment exactly. I had one of the last XJ’s and was eagerly waiting for its replacement which never materialised. Jaguars decision to go all electric will be their undoing, I’m not interested in any electric driven cars so at some point, I will buy the best petrol car I can and keep it.

Jaguar need to make a XJ with a walnut dashboard again with a brown interior a true gentleman's club again and I would definitely buy one.

💯 spot on Matt - Jag will go bust in a few years because they didn't listen to this video! I learnt to drive on my Dad's old 2.4 inspector morse Jag. No power steering, notchy gear box and it drank oil! However what a pretty car and I will forever have a soft spot for that car which my lovely dad let me drive soon after passing my test!

Many drivers liked that Jaguar gave them an alternative to Mercs, Audi, Beemers and Lexus etc.All Jaguar had to do is MAKE THEIR CARS MORE RELIABLE.They did not and hence the problem today.Give them a 7 year warranty on everything and people will come back to them.

I saw an XF estate yesterday and it struck me how smart it was compared to the overbulbous SUVs.

Couldn't agree more Matt. I've owned an XF S in the past and it's the best car I've owned by a country mile. It would be great to see them bringing back XF, XJ and F Type!!

I've owned two Evoques and a Velar. In 2020 I bought the P250 E-Pace just for a change and it's the best car I've ever owned. Smooth, comfortable, sporty when I need it and it's one of those cars that every time I walk away from it I have to turn around and have another look.
