I agree with you: A collab isn't necessarily a duet, and the original Disney duets are far, FAR better than these cover duets.

To me, the best duets are like a heartfelt conversation between the singers. One of my favorites is Just Give Me a Reason by P!nk and Nate Reuss.

I was waiting for “Just Give Me a Reason” by Pink and Nate Ruess. So sad it didn’t make the list! Those two have such powerful voices, yet they’re both such incredible storytellers!

In the original Lion King it felt like they were singing to each other and truly doing a duet while in the new one (which pains me to say because they are outstanding singers) it sounds like they did there own covers separately and someone was like "huh... Let's just put these together real quick", two separate versions of a song just sandwiched together.

Also the newer Beauty and the Beast seemed like they were more concerned with how good their voices could sound than telling a story through song.

There are so many duet that should've been on this list. Here are some:
- when you believe - Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey
- Barcelona - Freddie Mercury & montserrat cabelle
- under pressure - Freddie Mercury & David Bowie

That Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers duet was nothing short of legendary

I think "Say something" by Christina Aguilera and Great Big World and "Just give me a reason" by Pink and Nate Ruess are one of the best "Newer" duets.

The old versions of the Disney duets are so much better. I really don’t know what they’re trying to do over there anymore

Genuinely surprised “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” is not on the list, it’s the quintessential duet

Of all the Disney duets I've heard, my favorite has always been "I see the light" from Tangled

To me what makes a duet a duet is when they're really singing to each other, interacting with each other. Moulin Rouge is a great example, like Your Song and Come What May. That movie is filled with amazing duets between Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman

I can't stop laughing at the way Roomie says duet like "doo-it"
So cute!

I think When You Believe by Withney Houston&Mariah Carey and Tell Him by Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand deserve to be on the list more than some of the songs in the video

Agree with you about The Lion King duet. I like versions that capture the intimate, just-stepping-out-of-naivite feeling that aligns with the characters' emerging, and younger, love.

I’m a female tenor, and because I’m an opera junkie, I know Time To Say Goodbye really well. I sing Andrea Bocelli’s part around the house, and sometimes I just stop in the middle of doing things like eating breakfast or doing chores and start belting it and it freaks my family out so much 😂

“The Prayer” by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion should be on this list. Also, I think country music has produced some of the best duets, and I say that as someone who isn’t a fan of the genre. Just a couple that come to mind are:
“It’s Your Love” by Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, and “Whiskey Lullaby” by Brad Paisley & Allison Krause.

I consider duets to be more singing to each other than just with each other.

Taylor Swift and Bon Iver's Exile has to be on the list. It has everything.

This list is missing some of the greatest duets of all time:
“Under Pressure” - David Bowie & Freddie Mercury
“Don’t Give Up” - Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush

Oh, man, there's enough " dew its" throughout history for this to be a series. I'm a huge fan of classic duets like Elton John and George Michael singing "don't let the sun go down on me " goose bumps every time.
