Why Employers Value Experience Abroad - Sir Gary Verity

The Stand Out in a Global Market event series inspires students to kick start their careers by gaining experience abroad. Free events were held during 2016 which were open to sixth formers. The events demonstrated the range of international opportunities available, from vocational courses to international exchanges.

Attendees were able to get advice on what it’s really like from students who have already been abroad. At the same time they heard from employers on what they look for in graduates to compete globally. Gap year companies, universities and volunteer organisations were also on hand to guide students towards the opportunity which may be right for them.
