Tortitude is real. I have multiple cats and had 1 tortie. i always assumed her personality was just "her". Then I got another tortie and she has the exact same personality and attitude.

I once had two tortoiseshell cats at the same time. They were sisters. Iris, and Rose. Sadly they both have passed away, but will never be forgotten. ❤

My son's tortie is Motley. She is feisty, definitely has tortitude. Apparently she jumped to his lap and insisted he adopt her, he was totally conned. He and his wife spoil her to bits, she is a princess

I had a beloved tortie who passed away earlier this year. My wife and I had never heard of "tortitude" before this cat came into our lives. All we knew is, she was EXTREMELY passionate. She loved intensely and was quick to anger and was never shy about expressing her emotions. Just one small example. If she was sitting in my lap (which she did constantly) and I had to get up, she was very likely to growl or hiss or even snap at me. And once I settled down she would make little cute noises and want me to pet her. I've never had another cat that would act this way. When we heard about "tortitude", well that pretty much explained everything.

I had a tortie that I got from a friend when she was 9 years old. She lived to be 19 years old and gave me 10 years of joy. She was definitely a diva. I still miss her a lot.

I had a tortie for nearly 21 years (my profile picture). Sadly, she passed away about 3 years ago. She was so easy going and loving to us and the other cats. She will never be forgotten and will always be loved.❤

I have a Tortie. Her name is Turtle. She definitely has Tortitude. She thinks she is the queen around here. She lived in our back yard for about a year and then one day decided to move in. She tells me when it's bedtime and as I get ready for bed she is on the bed following, swatting and meowing as I walk past until I finally climb into bed. She is also a bed hog.

My 3 year old Tortie named Bailey has an extreme “tortietude”. She is an instigator of mischief and an escape artist. She has learned to open screen doors and catio door latches. We sometimes call her Houdini. She entertains our household so there’s never a dull moment.

I had an old cat named Luna, and she was the definition of tortitude! Even though she was kind of sassy and a "hissy" kind of a girl, when you really got to know her, she was very, very sweet. She died last year at the age of 19. I loved her so much❤

I had a tortie who definitely had tortitide. I had to put her down at 14 or 15 yrs old when she got weak and blind. So hard to do that, and took me 2+ years to learn to live with it. 💗Torties
