The new Cobra MkV is set to release on the 10th of December. The ship could well shake things up with Elite Dangerous due to its capabilities of matching some of the older higher end ships.

I wanted to give you some props. I watched your review of elite dangerous a few weeks ago. I then decided to dive back into it. Was able to convert my PS5 version to the PC version. And have been playing it ever since. Even spent $13 on a new ship, just to throw the company some money. Which brings me to this comment. I think they should know that your reviews do lead to positive outcomes.

It looks like a hybrid between a cobra and a viper

I wish they would shake things up further by allowing smaller ships a viable role - Small and agile should be a viable strategy.

New Ship for Elite video, god this takes me back... Haven't played ED for years now.

So ED is not dying just yet. They slapped themselves in the face and "restarted the engines".
This is a video we need you to make. How from "ED is dying, everybody is jumping ship" we went to this "rebirth".

Also: SHIP INTERIORS, SHIP INTERIORS, SHIP INTERIORS.
THIS will change the game! (without really changing it)

My only Elite Dangerous experience has been in a Cobra Mk III, love that ship!

I would love a new Asp Explorer. That was my first do it all ship.

I like it. Hoping I get to see a sequel to my beloved Viper 3. (The 4 doesn't feel much like a Viper to me.)

As an original '84-er, who owns all the ships, and has done pretty much everything to do in the game, but still uses the Cobra III as a daily commute and explorer, THIS is the ship I'll buy next. I love the design, and the new specs are very welcome. This will totally replace my ageing MkIII, which quite frankly, is really showing its age now, especially with the Mandelay out there. I can't wait for this! CMDR Roobarb signing off.

The new ships sure do look good. I just hope they keep cranking them out and don’t stop

Very curious that every new ship released this year were medium or smaller... makes me VERY excited to see what they have cooking for LARGER ships~

I’m probably the only one thinks that they’re releasing small, medium ships to make wave for the Panther Clipper.

I would love to see NPC squadron team mates in the future. Might be a good reason for me to get back to tthe game after very long break, since after over 700hours I don't really have any future goal or motivation to play. I preffer to play solo and also don't have any friends that play Elite, so I'm missing out on this part of the game and don't have any motivation to play it further.

My idea is to hire a newbie NPC and train him up from using small ships up to a big ones. But the catch is, they only gain experience by completing the mission with you and also you have to provide a ship yourself. Maybe a bonus experience from yourself using a ship from the same category. You could fly with medium or large along, but the experience gain would be low as they have to figure it out themselves and won't learn anything from you during the mission. Also having multiple cades on a mission would distribute exp evenly. The pilos would have to be trained in categories seperately - hauling, mining, fighting, taxi. In PvP, they could only fight with other NPC pilots and leave player alone, since they honor a fair fight. Might be fun to see them dogfighting with other players pilots too.

This would give players an opportunity to try new ships and maybe go back to smaller ones, if they are stuck with one - or two ships like me - forever. It will also motivate you to actually do other variety of missions, that you may have skipped or avoided as the rewards were mediocre or irrelevant (or you just didn't think about doing them at all).

Seeing your teammate piloting one of your other/older favourite ship would be great. And you would get a fleet for your carrier and wont feel so lonely on journey trough the space. Bonus if they could be sent on mining missions to refuel the ship or do some other supporting roles, like identifying core asteroids or protecting you from pirates during mining or hauling.

I think this might work really well with upcoming own star system development update and give many players an opportunity to experience the game from the begining.

Looks like a good exploration ship. Perhaps rivals even the Mandalay.

I love the look, for sure. Definitely a cobra, but so much sleeker. And that cockpit...

I just hope they don't release any ships that duplicate the functionality of existing ships at their weight class. Like the Anaconda as a multipurpose large, or the Python as a multipurpose medium, both of which do their thing very well. Due to the long, long work required to unlock engineers and get materials, some people have tuned their ships to do exactly what they want, and it would be annoying to get a "your existing ship but so much better" type thing. As other people have said, Frontier has yet to fix or do certain things, and those should be done before making "here is a new ship better than your old ship instead of what you want" things.

One thing that would really shake things up would be explorable atmospheric planets, like the one shown on your preview image

I love the direction they're taking now, both in features and the new design sensibility to the ships.
