The Batman Chronicles Volume 1 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Comics review of this collection of Batman's earliest adventures. And that's its major problem. But, Bill Finger and Bob Kane be forgiven, because they created the best hero in comic existence with these issues, and some cool, memorable characters and stories in the process. THE BATMAN CHRONICLES VOLUME 1 review features a possible mistake in the form of a "Doctor" where a "Professor" could be and supposedly good, understandable points that aren't undermined by said mistake.

I love Detective Comics of golden age. It's my morning pipe reading.

The art and pacing can sometimes be a bit droning, but its great to have the early Batman's adventures in chronological order - and it would later be stated that this golden age Batman is, in actuality, the elder Batman of Earth-Two, who married his universe's Catwoman and who conceived a daughter, who would later follow in her father's footsteps as the Huntress.

Well, like it or not, this is Batman as his creators had intended. A darker brutal vigilante. Closer to the Shadow and Zorro, than to a wholesome Mister Rogers. Batman actually kills villains in the original stories and has guns. Also, Batman kills villains in the Batman and Batman Returns movies by Tim Burton. They were inspired by this version, as conceived and created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane. And, yeah, it's Professor Hugo Strange, not to be confused with Dr. Strange. I enjoy this book.
