One of the main differences between Dominion and Dune Imperium is the number of rounds played in each game, which can impact the effectiveness of trashing certain cards. We explore these differences and explain how players can adjust their strategies accordingly.

Additionally, we discuss why drawing cards is often more powerful in Dune Imperium than trashing, and how players can optimize their decks to maximize their chances of success.

Whether you're a seasoned Dominion player looking to improve your Dune Imperium skills or a newcomer to both games, this video offers valuable insights and strategies to help you up your game.

We usually have 9 or 10 rounds in dune 3 players. Trashing cards early to replace with stronger cards is awesome. Especially in uprising many cards let you draw additional cards. Last game I played, the last 4 rounds I was able to draw my complete deck of 10 decent cards

One thing you didn't mention is when you have nice combo cards (e.g. any card that can discard with any unload card, graft synergies) it's much more beneficial to see those in the same hand, which is more likely if you trash a lot (and also draw of course). So it might be that one card is worth x by itself, and another is worth y, but together they have x+y+z value (maybe in a single action even, like in my examples).

Good video.
I sometimes wish thrashing in Dune Imperium was more widely available or cheaper.
If you need to buy a card like Fedaykin Death Commando for it, you probably wont see it untill round 3/4.
It feels thrashing is overcosted, especially when drawing cards is relativly easy.
Selective breeding could have been free thrash, and then pay 0, 1 or 2 spice to draw 0, 1 or 2 cards.

So i generally agree that trashing isnt as good in D:I but trashing two daggers is often fine, as long as you buy cards with green access. Also, if you have mainly 2+ persuasion cards in your deck, you dont need to rely on draw spaces so much

Another difference between Dominion and Dune Imperium is the deck reshuffling and card play sequencing. If you empty your deck and have to reshuffle your discard to make a new deck, your options for cards to trash become limited to your hand. That's fewer cards to choose a trash from, and trashing a card from you hand can limit your options or reduce the amount of swords, persuasion, or other resources you have access to. To avoid that, you might play the card you want to trash out first, which greatly impacts your sequencing and where you are placing your agents. In Dominion, you basically play out all your low impact cards you're likely to trash at once and sequencing doesn't really matter. It's no problem to trash from play or hand rather than discard.

Nice video, Cheesable! In Immortality, how do you feel about the 2 trash spots on the Research Track? Do you ever go for these?
