It wasn’t any of the rookies btw, Lucy was being followed and chased by men who thought she had the money, but one of those man wore blue snake shoes, which Lucy had recognized before they had to watch the money the night before, and the man was walking with a duffel bag which had the money in it.

It wasn’t them. The 250, 000 was already missing when they showed up. Basically this undercover officer by the name of Ortiz says that a drug cartel is planning to move 1 million dollars. LAPD raids the place and then Nolan, Jackson and Chen are responsible for guarding the money until money counter arrive. The next day they get questioned as $250, 000 is missing. They clear the polygraph but are still put on administrative leave while it is investigated. Chen gets surrounded and attacked by the members of the cartel while on the phone with Nolan and Jackson. Nolan and Jackson rush to her aid as Chen figures that it had to be the cartel boss who stole the money because she recognized his boots from the same man she saw leaving the house before the raid with a large duffel bag. Chen, Nolan and Jackson are able to subdue the men and have them arrested, meanwhile the Captain visits Ortiz in the hospital (he got stabbed at the beginning of the episode) and the captain informs Ortiz that he is being placed under arrested as he had known about the scheme and the boss stealing the $250, 000
