03:02 Pelé was 17 years old on that game. It was the first World Cup won by Brazil, in 1958.

5:26 it’s impossible not to grin from ear to ear just listening to that commentator absolutely losing his marbles. Great to watch how it snuck up on you too 🙂

The Beauty Of No Protocol. Is it her curiosity? Her intelligence? Her sense of wonder? Her smile? Her eyes? Her laugh? Her modesty. It is all that, and so much more. Such a great channel!

Hello! im Brazilian, that defeat for us(1x7 to Germany), was the most painfull thing i ever feeled in my entire life. If u dont know, we are historically the greatest nation in this sport, we are the ones who score the goals, now imagine a World Cup, in the country of football, in a semi-final, losing 7-1, it's inexplicable, everything went well for them, nothing for us. I remember that the street was painted in our colors throughout the country, watching the game. Nobody at work, nobody doing anything, just in front of the television watching the game, and seeing this shame. It still hurts us today... and it's an international joke. I hope u can react to that... will be hard for me to watch the video, but i will... Great reaction!

George best once said, “I spent all my money from football on drink, women and fast cars, the rest, I just wasted”

The announcer during the Bergkamp goal is Jack van Gelder, and he's known for his enthusiastic style of reporting. It was a game in the quarter finals of the World Cup vs Argentina, and it was 1-1 after two early goals in the first half. Then first Numan from the Netherlands got his second yellow card and was sent off, and with a few minutes to play Ortega from Argentina gave the Dutch goalkeeper a headbutt and was sent off as well. The goal from Bergkamp came a few minutes after that, in the 89th minute. I watched that game with my parents and a lot of colleagues from my dad's job, and the ending was absolutely crazy.

I think it was Jorge Valdano who said: "El fútbol es la cosa más importante de las cosas no importantes". (Football is the most important thing of the non important things)

The shirt rule is relatively recent.
Some players started getting paid for sponsoring products on the shirt they wore under their jersey.
This violated the sponsorship rules.
So they made a rule that says you get booked for taking off your shirt in celebration.
Even if you're not wearing anything underneath.

There are actually quite a few nice back stories to the goals in this video. Dennis Bergkamp x 23 was the last minute in a tense match between arch rivals Argentina and the Netherlands to go the semi finals of the WC, and it was a goal only Bergkamp could make. There have been better players than Bergkamp, allthough not too many, but when it comes to unique goals that never got copied, he's the man.

Thuram was there, a defender who hardly ever had scored a goal, and then in a difficult WC match for the favourite and home team France when the attackers and creative players had an off day, he scored twice to decide the game. That same tournement in the final we saw Zidane, the captain but a technical, creative player, great feet, scores two headers to decide the game. He was known for a lot of things, but not his headers.

Ruling world champion and huge favourite for the title Spain had one the first matches of the WC against the Netherlands which had their weakest squad in decades, and only the few fans of the infamous manager Van Gaal had some confidence. So billions of people around the world expecting just a boring easy first round victory for Spain. Van Persie equalized just before half time with that diving lob header. In the 2nd half the Netherlands crushed Spain with Robben scoring the 5th as was shown. Also for the non Dutch or not fands of Dutch football a match and score like that just sends a shockwave through the first week of the WC and that is great for everybody but the Spain supporters.

You're so tactful, calm and collected. The way you comment is something totally different what some is today. Thank you for existing and keep up the good work!

"Man City fans go wild" :😁😆That was Rooney scoring for Man Utd on Derby day. Man City vs Man Utd one of the biggest annual fixtures in the footballing calendar. Both teams hate each other - true rivals but ultimately, bit silly really.

Much ❤ your vids inspire me to educate my supremely lazy self.

What’s crazy is that this enthusiasm and passion is present even in the lower moments. A lot of these clips are from successful winning teams. Which is amazing to watch. I’m personally an Evertonian and my team hasn’t been the best for a while now. A couple seasons back we survived relegation and the scenes at goodison where some of the best I’ve ever been a part of. If you’re a fan of football that passion is there win lose or draw.

Beauty indeed.
That crazy Dennis Bergkamp commentary. I love this goal. World cup 1998, Quarterfinal. The Netherlands vs Argentina. Score is 1-1 and I believe the game was very tense. In the 90' Dennis Bergkamp scores the winning goal for the Netherlands and what a beautiful goal it was. Amazing pass, amazing first touch, 3 touches in total. From a comment: "Especially once you read the translation and realize how it begins with the commentator Jack van Gelder saying he has a feeling they are going to reach the semi-final". I guess the video is suitable for a private watching as it's 1 minute long: "Netherlands - Argentina: Bergkamp Goal 1998 (HD)" /watch?v=XsZkCFoqSBs

As a Bayern München Fan, the defeat in the 2012 UCL Final was really hard. The Final took place at our home Stadium and we got defeated in the penalty shoot out.
Adding to that we got 2nd in every tournament. We got 2nd in the league after Dortmund, 2nd in the national cup against Dortmund and 2nd in the european cup against Chelsea at home ground.

But we were rewarded for our dedication and hard work in the following Season were we won every Trophy. From 3 times 2nd to 3 times 1st.

Played it my whole life and through college, plus trying to go pro many years ago. This video does a good job capturing moments in time. The funny thing is I know every single moment in the video, every backstory, etc. I have watched just about everything on this game, played it basically every waking minute of most of my life, and unless people have played it, it's hard to describe why it's called the beautiful game. I teared up watching this because I miss it so much. Man, what a game.
