I'm pretty satisfied with how the app works too, but I feel like it could be improved a little.

Overall, the range, stability and image quality are all absolutely stunning for this price.

I also fly a Xiaomi Mi Drone 4k. Like you, I got it from Gearbest. It was on a flash sale for $400 and I somehow came across a $60 coupon code, which brought the price down to $340! I have no idea how often a deal like that might happen.

In my opinion, your review and thoughts on the Mi Drone are spot-on! I have only two complaints about the Mi Drone: The camera gimbal tilt, which I hope is fixed soon in a firmware update (I knew about the tilt issue when I purchased the drone, but I didn't think it would bother me. I was wrong). The other problem is one day the motors inexplicably wouldn't start. The Xiaomi drone is actually made by a company called Fimi. Fortunately, I found Fimi's customer support to be outstanding! I was back in the air in a couple of days. The drone needed a different firmware install. The fix would have happened sooner, I'm sure, if Fimi wasn't half a world away. My contact at Fimi was asleep when I was awake and vice-versa, so that slowed down communication. I've heard some Mi Drone flyers complain about a jello effect in their videos, but I haven't seen it in my drone -- and the fix appears to be a simple Macgyver procedure.

I believe DJI should have brought the Mi Drone to market as a budget professional model. I bet the Mi Drone would have much more market success if it was the exact same drone with a DJI label on it, but I'm personally glad it's not from DJI. I tend to root for underdogs! This drone doesn't have all the bells and whistles, such as follow-me features and object avoidance, but I feel not having those things makes me a pilot rather than a hobbyist.

The Xiaomi Mi Drone 4k is priced only a bit more than a toy, but it delivers video like a full-fledged pro. The way I see it, the difference between a pro and a toy drone is the pro can switch between GPS and ATTI modes, offers a 4k (or better) camera with FPV built-in, has 3-axis camera gimbal stabilization, brushless motors, and DOES NOT offer a flip-in-the-air feature!

What would make the Mi Drone a perfect drone in today's world? Fix the camera gimbal tilt issue! Refine the app a bit and allow me to get in the air faster. And the ultimate change: Allow me to someday soon replace the camera with one that shoots 4k at 60fps. 2k at 60fps on the current camera sure is nice, but having the same option at 4k would be a game changer for the Mi Drone! By the way, do you know the Mi Drone offers a live RSTP video stream via wi-fi? That's just full of awesome sauce, isn't it?

The Xiaomi Mi Drone 4k is one of the best recreational investments I've ever made in my life! Just ask my beautiful wife -- who feels quite neglected.

i really like your videos and you know a lot of drones so maybe you can help me. i bought a xiaomi mi drone 4k and the video looks really blurry, it does not matter when i put it in 1080p or 4k. i bought the fastest micro sd-card so that is not the issue. i read on reddit that it can be the bitrate of the video, the bitrate of my videos is 43000kbps. is that enough or do i have to change that? and where can i change that?
