Welcome to the fourteenth episode of my audio-only podcast, FILM SHOCKS! WITH HITCHCOCK! For 2022, every week will be devoted to a film from the master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock. Today, it's NUMBER SEVENTEEN.

For future episodes, I ask that you view the next movie in Hitchcock's filmography before the next episode. Send your thoughts and I'll share them during the discussion. For today's episode, what do you think of NUMBER SEVENTEEN and Hitchcock in general?

This video is not on your "Film Shocks" playlist. I thought "Rich and Strange" was the last Film Shocks review but apparently it was "Number 17".

I will need to rewatch since I was also lost and confused … relieved to know I wasn’t alone. I did really like the look of the film. I have the French DVD release of Waltzes from Vienna … have not decided on the region free player yet so I will be late with my homework.

I do agree it has a certain charm. I was also confused for most of the movie, but I actually did enjoy to watch it :p

I had no problem with it, youtube just put it out free. I am very interested in this film and planning an essay on it. I see in this film strong dramatic characters who's actions are more important than in his later films. To me there is no problem with the story, I am suprised anyone is having problems understanding it. I dont believe it is a parody. It is a detective film not a house film; the first charatcer is a detective and the house is from an address he has, he is looking for criminal activity, the fellow in there is not squatting but involved in the capper.
