Yup. Just as you said there. Over here, it a couple thing where lovers spend the day together. Its mostly the guys that are the ones that are more pressured to do stuff. But it can be both ways too. But if your in a relationship over here. Then its pretty much a must as its a special day for them. You sort of don't care if you aren't with someone.

It is expensive. Even in a relationship for well over a decade now I'm expected to drop $100 on a bunch of roses for the occasion. It's a bit .. anyway. I'd rather go out to a nice restaurant for that.

Just give the girl flowers if you get chocolate. Different flowers mean different levels of relationship.

If I have the money, I just like to celebrate for no reason or any reason. So I give super, large strawberries dipped in pink, dark or white chocolate to my family members or the favorite chocolate candy to the person I care about on Valentines. If I haveeven more money, I might get a chocolate candy bar flower arrangement. But, for people who have diabetes or want to stay healthy and lose weight, I would get them a sugar free chocolate treat or perfume/cologne or flowers..if a boy then instead of a flower maybe the cologne or aftershave if i knew which he likes. For me, it can be a couple thing in which case i take my partner somewhere special and make a memory and give a small gift. But, otherwise, I celebrate Valentine's Day in general as a celebration of all forms of love and try to give something to those who are special in my life- family, very close friends and lover.

Valentine's day its depending on individual.. for me, i give it to my friend a chocolate and cupcake or rose.. if that year i had a crush, i ask someone to sent that gift to my crush. Hehe. Im shy... And One of my friend their exchange gift with her boyfriend on valentine's day.
