The Unique Detail About Death in Transformers One. Something that was established back in the G1 era of Transformers. Was the concept of discolorization when a character dies. Particularly characters in the Prime family. We bore witness to this detail when Optimus Prime died after his lethal fight with Megatron. And we would see history repeat itself when Orion Pax lost his color after being killed by D-16 in Transformers One. It was definitely an awesome reference that fans of the original series seemed to appreciate. But there was 1 key detail that you probably didn't notice. Despite Transformers One being a solid adaptation of the stories we've seen in the past. It does take a few creative liberties to differentiate itself from its predecessors. Such as Zeta being the leader of the Primes instead of Prima. Speaking of Primes it seems that Primes of the original 13 don't lose their color after dying. Unlike normal robots like Orion Pax who lost his color. And Sentinel who was revealed to be a fake Prime.

The concept of decolourisation was also referenced in transformers prime, megatron stating that Optimus would fade to gunmetal grey after he died and we see that the long dead cybertronians are all gunmetal grey with the exception of cliffjumper and breakdown
The prime’s colours not fading was also in TFPRIME as seen when megatron and dreadwing in take the arm from liege maximo

I have a feeling that it’s because the primes were pretty much angels, as to why the prime corpses retained their colors…

I like to imagine decolorization occurs because of electric paint like how in animated wasp made bumble green and himself yellow. And obviously since they’re dead the electric paint fades. I don’t think it’s ever explained why but I like to imagine it’s the electric paint.

No one has said it yet, so I'm just going to point it out. Orion took a fatal shot to the left shoulder, a well know weak point in transformer anatomy that can lead to instant death with even minor damage. Another deep lore cut for long time fans.

If yall are listening closey, you can hear a robot, which means he is recording us or probably just edit, but i dont think its edit, because people can do anything nowdays.❤❤❤

The real reason is probably because the primes bodies need to contrast the moss and rock and such around them, so they need color.

Lore wise i would assume somthing about Primus sustaining them

Well, you know who else "Died" and didn't lose his color? Alpha Trion. Alpha Trion wasn't really dead. He was deactivated, but his spark remained. Imagine that the other primes are actually still alive. I know we saw them at the end there when Optimus was receiving the Matrix, but that doesn't exactly have to mean that they were dead. Perhaps a part of them resides in the matrix as a guide? Either way, the remaining color could signify that the Primes aren't exactly dead and could return. The concept that Megatronus Prime was not portrayed as a fallen prime sorta irked me a little. I mean, it was a nice change of pace, and considering that most recently, he's generally portrayed as a more redeemable character in that he really just wanted to be loved, it makes sense that not every version of Megatronus be a villain. But honestly, to see the Prime return to life, agree that the world needs to be changed, seek to retake his T-Cog from Megatron, and absolutely shatter Megatron's idolization of the character would create such a dynamic here that Optimus and Megatron BOTH might have to team up to defeat the Fallen, whose campaign might turn toward facing the Quintessons before reforming Cybertron into an autocracy with the "Last Prime" as its cruel head. This singular detail could easily jumpstart a brand new storyline if they chase it.

The primes are sparks of primus creations so it makes sense they didn’t lose their color

The Thirteen Primes are like demi-gods in the transformers universes. They were the firsts to be created by their creator/god Primus—each got special abilities, powers and attributes that were pass [on in one way or another] to all Primus’ later creators aka the Transformers!

I want to say that those that die their spark are transfered to the heart of cybertron and will get reincarnated but without any memories

I believe the origibal primes may not be able to die and may not actually be dead, but their bodies are non functional

However, they may be the only cybertronians with some work that could be revived

Those who havent lost their colors can still be revived whike those who have lost their color likely can't be revived type of deal

But not all greyed out cybertronians are completely dead and there are ways to revive them such as what happened with optimus

Optimus colors also faded in rotf when he died

decolourisation is just there to show that the character died because they couldnt make something else to show a character dying. thats why primes didnt lose their color, because they werent alive in the first place. so they are just considered background .

In Transformers lore the loss of color during death is called “Aggressive Depigmentation” which I think is really funny.

If I had to guess why the original primes didn’t lose their color though I’d say that maybe it’s because they were the first transformers ever built. Maybe instead of taking on a color while alive they were just built as a specific color. Like they were painted those colors instead of their bodies changing to them on their own. That’s just my theory though.

In TF 2 optimus primes color begins to fade after he's stabbed through the spark and killed

I believe it’s likely that the primes were forged in their colors while everyone else wasn’t

Oh and btw, when orion saved D-13, he jumped just like the cybertron scene optimus prime in the bumblebee movie, AND g1 optimus.

In the bay verse when Optimus died he lost his color too

I think its base on damage %. Like Sentinel and Optimus in transformer one. But in Bayformers 2 Optimus didn't lose color but Bayformers 3 Ironhide lose color and death but Sentinel didn't

So Primes are just Primarchs from Warhammer, they never truly die.
