The Disappearance of D.B. Cooper

Показать описание
D.B. Cooper is the alias of an American criminal who, on November 24, 1971, hijacked a Boeing 727-51 aircraft of Northwest Orient Airlines en route from Portland to Seattle. After receiving a ransom of $200,000, the hijacker released the passengers, ordered the pilots to take off, and parachuted from the plane, approximately 50 kilometers northeast of Portland. Due to a journalistic error, the hijacker became known as D.B. Cooper as, during the initial stages of the investigation, the Portland police checked an Oregon resident with that name for involvement in the crime. Despite an extensive investigation, the FBI failed to either identify the hijacker or determine his subsequent fate, and in July 2016, the investigation was officially suspended.
