I am a trucker and pass that spot many times.. I always laugh at the sign.. because thier is literally nothing in Nothing.. I do on occasion see people parked there checking things out etc..

I had to watch this! I made a video there. I parked my motorhome there and spent the night. Great history! Glad you stopped there. The guys that started the place also had a mechanics shop. Then it sat for years and someone else tried to make a go of it in 2012 but it didn’t make it either. I can’t remember but I believe the first two guys started it in 1974.

We had to drive 10 miles to get the McDonald's on power rd + US 60

everyone just stops to squeeze their lizard but the roads behind to the north are great and secret boondocking spot and the higher elevation with it being cooler you can get some sleep. but you left out snoopy rock

I live in El Paso Tx on the eastern slope of the Franklin Mountain's! I'm one block from the end of civilization to the mountainside! Here I've had road runner's, coyotes, deer skunks rattlesnakes and once I even had a female Pheasant come into my garage! I've had Quail nest in my backyard too! When I was a child I remember seeing Armadillo on the highways between El Paso and Chapparral NM! I used to see collared lizards all over the boulders too but now sadly both of these species are long gone from here! Occasionally I've seen a Porcupine but they are rare in our area now! We see Mountain Lions now almost every year roaming neighborhoods from sundown till dawn- at least half a dozen sightings! And every so often a large Hawk will snag a little dog from someone's yard around our neighborhood! There's a coven of them I've watched from childhood, started as a pair and now there's a couple dozen that follow the same patterns every summer from the Fraklin moutains to Van Horn and the Sierra Blancas!

It was never a town. Funny, looking at trash when right behind the building the Sonoran and Mohave deserts come together and create one of the most beautiful and lush desert environments with dozens of square miles of boulder fields with safe dirt roads going through accessing a photographers dreamland.
