I just acquired the new ish Tubby Hayes 11 Album Box Set. Its at the moment (Feb 2021) at a decent price on Ebay, though I suspect it will go up. I got one at a good price and decided to do an unboxing video and give my thoughts on it. Please like and subscribe if you enjoy this video.

Tubby Hayes with Dizzy Reece - Blues In Trinity - is excellent. Blue Note. Great blowing and worth every penny.

Got mine today from Rough Trade who have been selling the boxset for £90-£99 including postage then bumping the price back up to £200 every few days or so, so keep checking back if it shows £200.

That’s a great deal for U.K. buyers as the weight of the boxset must be £12-15 postage costs alone.

Thanks. Just ordered this. Cheapest I could find was £190. But reading Tubbs biog and have the dvd ready to watch.

Really nicely shown thanks, but is it a limited edition?. That would be the main effect on the price. Jazzman got around the ridiculous speed of selling out by getting a reissue licence for the separate lps in the Carr/Rendell box in the end, effectively meaning people were paying £200 for the slipcase!.

That was enjoyable, thanks. Appreciate the opinion on the sound. One important correction... the Grits, Beans and Greens LP isn't outtakes, it was recorded as an album but unreleased at the time. It's available singly, with the same, superb, all-analogue mastering as the box set, by Gearbox (look up their site for their own great reissues) and rivals Mexican Green in quality of performances and music.
