Hi, I'm Frances Fernandez, the faculty director of the health services management program in CCAPS at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. We are glad you’re here!
Our bachelor of applied science in health services management will prepare you to effectively manage, lead, and oversee the business activities and operations of dynamic health care organizations, including clinics, hospitals, physicians' offices, nursing homes, group medical practices, health insurance companies, government agencies, and many more. Our program will prepare you to address our communities’ health care needs with a person-centered approach, assuring inclusion and equity, quality, accessibility, in health care delivery.
Hello I’m Nick Smith. I’m a 2019 graduate of the Health Services Management program, and currently I’m a Medicare Advantage product strategy consultant at UnitedHealthcare, just one of the many exciting opportunities you’ll find after graduating from the HSM program.
The HSM program prepared me to be an effective health care leader and advocate for all patients. I’m able to use the experiences learned from our faculty to be a transformational leader and affect positive change in the healthcare system.
Hi! I’m Bridgette Grobe an HSM grad from 2018 and currently work as a senior strategy analyst at UnitedHealthcare.
Now is a GREAT time to get into health services management!
With an average salary of $101,000/year health services management is one of the fastest growing and most exciting opportunities out there.
With this degree, you could have a career as a client service manager, medical practice administrator, revenue cycle manager, compliance manager, community health specialist, or healthcare data analyst, just to name a few.
There are so many reasons to choose the U of M HSM program. The HSM program boasts one of the most diverse student populations at the Twin Cities campus, so you’ll be exposed to new and different perspectives for networking and learning how to lead more equitable and just health care organizations.
Courses are offered in a blended format, in-person, online or hybrid, providing different scheduling options that work for you. We also have a great study abroad program in Costa Rica!
AND ours is the only program in the Twin Cities certified by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA).
Want to learn more? You can contact an advisor, call or visit us online.
See you in class!
