Its nice to see a more proactive approach to caring for these wounds. My dad has spent an hour, 2 days a week the last 12 weeks getting dressing changes for diabetic wounds on feet and legs. Its a very frustrating thing to go through.

Is this place I’ve been having ulcers since seven months ago I lost the tip of one of my toes and another surgery they tried to straighten my toes I ended up getting an infection from the one that was bad to the one that was healthy because they were done together at night it up losing the entirety of the toe now I’m on my right side and that started off as a callus they tried to shave off now that one is so bad that the wound won’t close my podiatrist is going to do surgery to try to close that after seven months and now I think I have another ulcer on the left foot I haven’t been going to a wound specialist I’ve just been going to my podiatrist I wonder if I should switch or what to do because I’m not gonna have any toes left at this point and I’m in a lot of pain from having to walk on the wounds themselves one of them actually has an exposed nerve so every time I step down on it it is so freaking painful

Impressed - until I saw the patient walking out in a pair of plimsole shoes that probably attributed to her ulcer in the first place! What's the point in healing a foot wound without also ensuring that the cause is avoided in the future...

I am 13 weeks post full thickness wound about the of a dollar coin right over the "ankle bone" part of tibia (inner side of foot/leg) ....Part of it is healing nicely lots of red granulation I think is what they say? But there is this deep crease with the yellow junk forming ....some discharge every week and "pocketing" of 1-2mm on one side ... my bone "is right there" The doc said as he rapped a little steel probe against it which sounded just like wood! He actually told me to stop moving my foot around ...HOW can I not be moving moving my foot? I HAVE to walk around ...I feel like I NEED a walking cast or brace (I think) but he doubted there was anything that would not rub on the wound...so I am looking myself I am north San DIego county area any ideas?

If the ulcer is caused by abnormal foot pressures, then what prevents them from coming back once you take the cast off?

What about a wound right on the ankle bone that won't heal? I just feel like there is always grating from the 2 layer wrap ...wellI know there is because every dressing change there are new blisters which the doctor blows off saying "it's like getting used to a new pair of shoes" I feel like I need some kind of boot that has zero pressure on my ankle bone or something ...Dr was talking to about danger of bone infection ...scares the crap out of me!
