Anyone who wants to learn the choreo quickly and efficiently listen to my advice. You don’t have to do it but I find it’s really helpful.

Step 1: put the song on the normal speed and just try and follow the dance. Repeat this a few more times until you get the basic choreo. At this point you’re not supposed to know the details or the moves really well. This is just for you to know what moves come next and maybe learn the easier parts of the dance first.


Step 2: Put the time on the 0.25x speed and learn the details and harder choreo. Do this how many times you like until you know the choreo.

Step 3: Put it to 0.50x speed when you’ve learnt the details and dance to this about 5-10 times. When you think you’re ready move to 0.75x speed and do the same thing.

Step 4: Finally, put it back on normal speed and dance until you feel comfortable. Make sure to also mark sometimes so you know when to add facial expressions and your own little touch.

Step 5: Enjoy! hope this helps. It helped me a lot!

This is my advise to learn dances:
.Always first learn the chorus
.second learn the first verse
.the second chorus
.bridge
.finally the dance break :)
Don’t always push yourself too hard to learn a dance(the process can take you about two weeks instead of a month :))

It doesn't really matter who learns it the fastest, with time I've learned that the only way for choreographies to stick to your mind is to dance to them for at least 3 months after you've learned it, or else parts like the pre-choruses or break dances can be forgotten easily

Random tip but I feel like it’s obvious, learn from the person who resembles your style more. I was trained in a dance academy and this was a tip given to me. Personally I learned Jihyo’s better. For example, Dahyun has a different dancing style than the one I feel more comfortable in. She’s more, light in a way, her moves are subtle and not exaggerated in a way, it’s swift. I don’t dance like that. I prefer more sharp and contrasted moves, and to me Jihyo is the one that I feel has that. I don’t learn the whole choreo either. I learn one person’s part first, so like Jihyo and once I feel comfortable dancing, I’ll look at the others and see other movements where Jihyo might be “paused” and learn those later.

Idk if it makes sense but this is just how I learn choreographies
