Let's Talk About Kippered Snacks. If you're looking for a fast, delicious and inexpensive way to add more Omega 3's into your diet, then kippered snacks is the answer you've been looking for. I sampled four different brands of kippered snacks. Each can is roughly under $2.00 and serves 2 people. In the upcoming weeks I'll be sharing four recipes that feature this sometimes forgotten canned fish. #youtubefood #easy #myyoutuberecipe #kipper #snacks #avocadotoast #smokedfish #cannedfish #cooking #recipeoftheday #familyfriendly #recipe #budgetfriendly #recipevideo #kidfriendly #youtubefood #inthekitchenwithlynn

Ive just started eating kipper snacks after decades of sardines and anchovies. They are my new favorite!

I fry them up a little with a smidge of oil in a pan in which I then cook together with scrambled eggs. Eat that with raisin bread slices with a nice thick layer of cream cheese. I like all the subtle flavors in the morning.
If you need to avoid carbs, then swap out the raisen bread with wheat, keto, or rye bread, and you're good to go. The Scandinavians make sandwiches that way ... smoked kippers, scrambled eggs, rye bread, and cream cheese. And maybe cucumber slices, too. If it's too bland for you, then zing it up a little with some Tabasco or salsa. Yummy!

I love the Bar Harbor brand. They do make kippered snacks; as well as the wild herring. I like both of those, and the sardines, as well. They used to make a herring in cabernet wine sauce; that was wonderful, and I wish those were still available. I like that these kippers are not overly smoked, and have less sodium than other brands. I just lift the fillets out of the can, place them on a dish, and eat them (without any accompaniment) for breakfast or lunch. Yummy!

My dad loved these. He ate them for a snack. He opened them and broke them up with a fork. Added fresh lemon juice and put the herring on saltines. Us kids all loved it.
Older now and eating healthy. Happy to see a favorite with so many vitamins etc. I eat the Brunswick or King Oscar almost every night. My dog loves them too

Doc told me I need the omega 3, the pills are crappy. I used to eat these all the time when I was in the military. Didn’t eat them for years cause my wife couldn’t stand the smell. Recently rediscovered my love for them after my wife passed and I can’t get enough now; on saltines. The polar are my favorite because they seem drier and firmer. Good vid👍

Hi Lynn,
Nice little video! First...thank you for shopping with us at Walmart 😁!
I am a big fan of kippered herring and sardines! My favorite is Brunswick kippered herring! As for Sardines, I am a fan of Wild planet's. Packed in water or olive oil. Have a great day!

My two sons and I love kippers, my Navy son took some on his ship, they said he could only eat them outside on the flight deck!

Good video, I eat the king oscar out of the can, of course the cats want some too! Did you do a video yet of the different tastes of each can?

Yeah that awful canned salmon turned a lot of us off. If you ever want to revisit Salmon patties, it's definitely worth it but never with that horrible canned stuff. That bone scarred all of us.

Just wondering if youve tried liquid fish oil with lemon? Its alot easier to swallow then pill form.

Family dollar carries them in the St.louis metro east area in Illinois.

King Oscar, $2.16 divided by 3.54oz = .61 x 16 = $9.76 per pound. As of 01/11/2024 its $2.98 at Walmart.
$2.98 divided by 3.54oz = .84 x 16 = $13.46 per pound. This is the price of steak. This is not inexpensive for me.
