Please do a show on EOD divers from the 1950s. My dad went through EOD trIning at the u.s. naval powder factory in Indian head Maryland from January 1952 through 1957. Before that was a gunners mate first class during ww2. He served in the Atlantic from January 1941 until march 1943. His destroyer uss myrznt was damaged by German luftwaffer. He was sent to the pacific theater after that and wss on the uss Daly DD519 and then the mine sweeper am 122 swift. Served in the pacific afyer wR ended clearing mines. He was on EOD unit one basd out of Pearl harbor Hawaii starting in1956. I never met my father and recently received his DD214 that details the aforementioned facts. Wish i could have met him.

Can Coast Guard (commissioned) officers attend this training (for the Diver curriculum only, no EOD)?

I just read that the official CG Diving Commissioned Officer specialty was gotten rid of ten years ago
