River Otter Fishing

I was having a somewhat disappointing birdwatching day, when I caught sight of this North American River Otter, Lontra canadensis, on the opposite side of a slough. I saw him preening, swimming, and digging in the mud to roust out some catfish. He caught one of them, ate it and then swam right up in front of me to check me out before heading off on the rest of his morning jaunt.
