Great interview - thank you! I'm the opposite of a late bloomer. Early in my life I achieved a lot, went to both medical & law school, and was successful in management within a decade of entering corporate work. I was hardworking but mainly I was fortunate in having the most important blessing - parents who cared about my education. The problem is when you reach these goals you will find, like everyone else who reaches them, that they don't fulfill you. So then, like everyone else in this category, you end up in yoga, meditation, Tony Robbins seminars, perhaps spiritual practices, therapy, exercise or sports, or even unhealthy attempts at fulfillment like alcohol, drugs, food, affairs, etc. Achievement is rewarding as a kid bc you get the gold star and pat on the back. As adults many of us stop feeling that sense of growth. Even if we're still fairly young, we feel exhausted, not physically but internally, and everything seems like a pointless distraction from existential dread.

As a security guard (as well as a husband and father) in his mid 30's who is desperately and stressfully trying to find his way in life, I found this to be both highly encouraging and—likely due to my own lack of self-confidence—utterly demoralizing. Great interview and content either way.

Grateful for this discussion on wisdom. Being a post up and out career, learning lack of fear has given me the ability to play in Pandoras box of illusions.

I for sure am the part of the demographic that didnt mature by 25, my period started at 16 and I as a girl grew in height well into my 20ies, and I had acting out rebellion stage in 20ies, which people have in their teens, where I was really tame and never socialized. This gives me hope because I also suffer from chronic depression and havent entered job market at 30 because I hqve been studying my MD and MSc degrees, but took me longer because of my health. In Europe things work different so I had full scholarships for both. But now that I have to look for a job, at 30 with no prior experience, I feel super depressed and feel like nobpdy will employ me because my resume does show that I spent my 20ies in bed, where people at 25 are already super active and already manage to gather some experience. but with severe depression, one commitment was already hard enough for me during lows. But Im glad I landed on this video, and I should've youtubed late bloomer earlier, there is hope
