NEW: Expansion Big 12 Adding UConn in Realignment is Happening, and All Sports Are Coming | Big East

Adding UConn to the Big 12 would bring significant benefits to the conference, both on and off the field. UConn, with its storied basketball history, would immediately elevate the Big 12's profile in college hoops. The Huskies' men's basketball program, which has multiple national championships, would add another perennial contender to the conference. Their inclusion would also boost the Big 12's presence in the Northeast, expanding the conference's geographic footprint and media reach.

UConn’s women's basketball program is another key asset. As one of the most successful programs in the history of women’s sports, the Huskies would enhance the Big 12’s reputation and competitiveness in women’s basketball. The rivalry potential with other strong Big 12 teams, such as Baylor, would generate significant interest and viewership.

Beyond basketball, UConn's inclusion would help the Big 12 diversify its sports portfolio. UConn’s football program, while not as dominant as its basketball teams, has a passionate fan base and could benefit from the increased competition and visibility that comes with playing in a Power Five conference. The move would also open doors for UConn’s other sports programs, which have seen success in various arenas.

Financially, UConn’s large alumni base and strong brand recognition would contribute to the Big 12's overall media rights value. The addition of a new market in the Northeast could attract more television viewers and advertisers, boosting revenue for the conference and its member schools.

Overall, bringing UConn into the Big 12 would be a strategic move that strengthens the conference in multiple areas, enhancing its competitiveness and expanding its influence across the country.

The ACC must be sick. Yormark has done it again. While the ACC slept on UCONN for 20 years and wasted its time with Syracuse and BC flops, Yormark has identified an undervalued team that will prove to be an athletic and financial powerhouse for the Big 12.

UConn would be great for Big 12 basketball, would take them a few years to put a football program together but they have actually won bowl games. But they would have to agree to build a new stadium at their school not far away like it is and it has to hold more than 40, 000 like the current one.

Stop it, UConn is not coming to the Big XII. They were already in one National conference, and they HATED it! They lost the fan base, they lost the alums, they lost out on recruits. The fan base, and the alums never connected, or identified with South Florida, and Memphis, etc. They DO connect, and identify with St. John's, and Villanova, and Georgetown, Providence, and Seton Hall. They got rid of Ollie, hire Hurley, get out of the AAC, get back into the Big East, what happens....the fan base comes back, the alumni comes back, the recruits come back...BOOM! Two Natties!
Not to mention, UConn adds ZEE-ROH football value. If the Big XII grabs whatever they can from the ACC when/if that blows up, they won't have room for UConn. And vice verse...IF (and BIG IF, there) they add UConn, then they won't be able to add as much from the ACC when that ship sinks.
