Yeah, that's the cam chain tensioner, or what Honda calls, the 'cam chain lifter assembly.' I had awful issues with my 250 on that issue. Had three OEM units replaced by Honda even when warranty expired. All the OEM units failed completely. I solved mine by installing a manual CCT from Krieger CCT's. Only had to manually adjust that once every 10, 000 kms or so. Yes, I have the same rattle in my 300L as do many others. It'll happen on steady throttle and disappear when you throttle on. It won't cause any problems unless it gets extreme as mine did on the 250. If that happened it'll let you know by a slapping sound and a hard knock you feel in the bars.

Mine does the same Rattle since new and still only had under 200 miles on it

I just picked up a 2024 and can confirm it still 'rattles'. :D As well as some other clunks and noises I'm not used to. But we'll see what settles out after a few hundred miles. Love this little bike so far.

It's a totally normal sound for that bike regardless of fuel grade used. I own the Rally version and she sounds exactly the same.

The receipt from the gas station is important to me and I always ask for it to show the type of fuel, and the kilometers traveled, so I know the consumption from one day to the next. Thanks for the video and take care.

Hello, i had the same noise in my Crf300l, i removed the pipe in air filter, and all canister system, i have 5000km and the noise at 7000rpm has very decrease 👍👍

Fuel price wise here in Australia we have whats called E10 a base cheap unleaded with ethanol $1.47 a liter, 91 octane no ethanol $1.51 a liter, 95 premium no ethanol $1.63 or 98 premium no ethanol $1.71 a liter its bad as our better grade fuel gets exported to Japan and other area's an we import poorer grades which needs more work to get the same or close to same quality as we export and we are left paying higher prices than lots of countries ...
Loving your video's man keep them up, Im still waiting for my crf300l to arrive but over here we have LED all round bike as standard which is a bonus 👍 cheers

Not happy. 30mph (50kph) is the city speed limit in the EU so the rattling would drive me crazy.

See if there is a vent tube in the tank. My Lifan X-Pect had one and it would vibrate (similar to your sound). I just took a screwdriver and bent it to the side a bit. Problem solved.

Just got a new 300L straight off the dealership floor with 0 miles on the odometer and I heard that noise 25 miles into the ride... seems to start making that noise once the engine starts to heat up.

Several reports of rattle noise at circa 5800rpm.. linked to the CCT Chain Cam Tensioner apparently

It's been a while since I filled. I fill up a 5 gallon jug and when I've got the bike with me I fill it up at QT in Joplin, 91 Ethanol Free.

There are different things that rattle on this bike. I have had mine for 6 weeks and put 1000kms on it. The first thing that rattles is the plastic chain guard. Removed it and no more rattle there.The pair valve makes a popping noise around 5000 rpms. I am going to block that off next.

My crf300l has the same rattle. Also my throttle tube clicks. I did change my bars to protaper.
