I saw Nathalie Stutzmann conduct the Brahms 2nd with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and it was fantastic: the phrasing was vivid and elegant. Hope to hear more of her!

A lovely performance from the Mito Chamber Orchestra, as conducted by Nathalie Stutzmann.

Leave it to Mendelssohn to find the perfect synergy of Bach and Mozart, with his own distinct flourish of romanticism. This fourth symphony showcases his talents very well, and reinforces this writer's opinion that Mendelssohn was ultimately the greatest composer of all.

Thank you for sharing with us!

It is obvious that the orchestra has been very well rehearsed. The voicing she gets from the players is the best I have heard in decades of listening to this symphony.

This woman is a magnificent singer (listen to her Erbarme Dich from the Bach St. Matthew Passion; you won't soon forget it). She is clearly also a very fine conductor. Like the benchmark, Carlos Kleiber, she gives the orchestra just what it needs and no more to realize her concept of the piece. And, in this case, her concept is marvelous. Airborne and transparent, as this incredible symphony ought to be.

Fresh as an early summer's morning, uplifting as thermal currents, and superbly delivered and conducted.

The struggles early composers had with to survive, finding food, shelter, warmth in cold, simply finding light for dark nights, cold weather. Adversity to compose was a Promethean conquest of the human condition to survive, let alone write symphonies for the generations to follow. Travel in those times absurdly impossible, dirt roads, few bridges, hotels along the way few between, how do you deal with no hot water and still carry on composing. Astoundingly great efforts!
