I have a feeling that this would be similar to her being attacked by a Hunter, she'd probably get saved by the Vortigaunt's vortussy

It's kinda weird how this was even thought of in the first place... Killing off Alyx doesn't really do just as much as killing Eli. She just dies off the bat pathetically. At least with Eli his death had reason behind it because Eli was an important figure in the Resistance. But Alyx? Her significance in HL2 is much smaller unless we are speaking in terms of HL: Alyx. But Alyx's death here means nothing else but "this is dangerous, you will fall to your death". It's very anti-climactic especially since Alyx up to this point was built up to be a good companion/partner for Gordon.
