Orthogonal frequency-division multiple access, or OFDMA, and multiuser multiple input, multiple output, or MU-MIMO, are part of what makes Wi-Fi 6 so powerful. MU-MIMO debuted in Wi-Fi 5, enabling four data streams at once from separate antennas, but now, supports up to eight streams. OFDMA reduces bandwidth waste by dividing a wireless channel into smaller and smaller subcarriers to divvy up bandwidth among users.

Does this OFDMA only works with Wifi-6 let say I have router that supports both 5 and 6 will and the router description it supports OFDMA; Will this OFDMA works on Wifi-5 as well?

Does OFDMA also work on wifi5 devices? Planning to buy wifi 6 router but most our devices are still AC and not AX.

Wi-fi 5 can use up to 8 spatial streams, not 4. The key difference is that due to the features of OFDMA, Wi-fi 6 can accept up to 8 stations simultaneously. Spatial streams are related to MU-MIMO, whereas OFDM/OFDMA are related to the subchannels used for stations.

Anybody else annoyed to no end by the constant 'Meye-mo'? When it is clearly either 'Mee-mo' or 'Mih-mo'.

The sound 'Input' makes is not 'eye'. Logically it would be pronounced Mee-mo, but grammatically it is pronounced Mih-mo. Ugh... Grated at my soul for some reason.

*EDIT*

Kind of like people saying PCIe slots are one-ex or ex-one. It is specifically stated in the standard they are by-one, by-eight, by-sixteen, etc. etc.
