I 3D printed a bunch of these fascinating #polykite shapes, 'the hat' discovered by David Smith in the UK, and turned it into a diverting game. This is one of the coolest discoveries ever IMO since it's the only SINGLE #monotile known that remains aperiodic despite being so simple and elegant.

Can you solve this puzzle? Good luck arranging all the #aperiodic monotiles into a single contiguous mass. Yeah I'm a nerd, deal with it.

Thank you for mentioning me! I can only see grey tiles but they do include reflections. The ratio of unreflected tiles to reflected tiles is about 6.85 to 1. I have a few techniques of putting the hats together but still get stuck and have to backtrack quite often.

In the picture you’re looking at I believe the blue tiles are “flipped”. So your tiles won’t be able to continue to tile unless you occasionally flip one to the flat side.
